We have an amazing group of students who, although life at home may not be what a typical home looks like, they persevere each day and come back to school. Most students don't have much help at home when it comes to homework. We have a very high ELL population, high free and reduced lunch numbers and many kids who are 2 or more grade levels below in reading and math. As we have researched the why of the intensity of our numbers in that Tier 3 intervention level we have found that lots of them did not start in our system, but have transferred in. With our transient population we often get kids who have been to 4-5 schools by the time they are in 3rd grade and we have many holes to fill in. Our staff is a dedicated group of individuals, recently committed to being a No Excuses University, who do the best they can to be teacher, parent, nurse, counselor, coach and all the rest each day.
