All of the items I've requested directly relate to self-regulation and social and emotional learning. By giving my students a regulation station with a carpet and pillows, they can further process their emotions in a safe area. Many of my students have experienced traumas and I am dedicated to helping them learn how to recognize and regulate their emotions so that they can transform their lives in a positive way. Water has been scientifically proven to help metabolize cortisol which is the hormone that is released in stressful situations. If I have water readily available, I can offer a bottle to a student who is experiencing disregulation and help them to calm down faster than they would otherwise. Help me to positively influence the lifelong trajectory of my students by providing them these invaluable tools.
