While our school is a small arts and sciences academy (about 500 9th through 12th graders), we are a public school who focuses on developing well rounded young people who are strong in both their core academic studies, as well as the arts. Approximately 60% of our students receive free or reduced lunch, and many young people who graduate from our school are the first in their families to go to college. Since we reformed our old public high school and opened our doors 8 years ago, we have overcome tremendous obstacles with our student population and limited facilities and resources. Most of our success is due to our dedicated staff who always puts positive relationships with students first, followed by integrating core content with creativity and real world problem-solving. Our students are bright, creative, and incredibly grateful for authentic experiences and materials when they are available.
