The TREK Center will service gifted students in third through fifth grade. We are located in Appalachia and many of our students do not have opportunities to experience learning that other students may. When students are identified as gifted they are invited to learn at TREK. Students choose the subjects they want study. We are behind the times in technology and engineering. Classes that are offered include Chemistry, Biology, Art, Drama, and Geography as well as many others. We are housed in an elementary school that is centrally located in our district and students are bused in from 19 elementary schools. Each day students rotate through four classes. We pride ourselves on offering curriculum that is challenging and different than what is offered in a regular classroom. We are hoping to add a Lego Lab to our offerings and in the future also a robotics lab.
