I was inspired by two projects, Chemistry in Our World and Family Game Night for Special Education. My project is a great fit for my school as well as my students because it provides an open opportunity for exploration outside of the normal school day and to be immersed in the world of science. Our school will be hosting a science night for all students to attend. It will include mini presentations by a chemist, an interactive science area run by a university's math and science center, along with with my vision for a hands-on Makerspace. Students will use the Cozmos to explore robots and their capabilites. They will use the Zoomtool kit and Strawbees to create simple shapes and 3D structures. In addition, they will be able to dabble with animating with the use of a new Lego kit and iPad. Other problem solving, thinking, creating, and artistic activities will be incorporated into this Makerspace area.
