My fourth grade students are an amazing group of kids that are very bright, but struggle greatly with reading. They are very motivated by music, especially hip hop and rap. Each quarter when my students take the reading benchmark, while the reading level is above what most of them are able to comprehend, they try their best in the hopes of receiving an MP3 player later on in the school year.
