My students really enjoy the opportunity to dig into their novel unit, where we read "The Last Book in The Universe". Unfortunately, we have spent almost as much time fixing and repairing books as we have actually reading them. I'm asking for help in purchasing 75 copies of The Last Book in The Universe, so that we can replace copies that are falling apart! Reading is so much easier and efficient when you don't have to spend time repairing books! This will allow us to spend more time in discussion, facilitate more efficient classroom dialogue and understanding of the novel -- time we might be spending finding/repairing/putting back together damaged novels.
