I teach kindergarten in a Title I school in South Carolina. The majority of my students are high poverty and lack access to many basic educational tools in their homes. Kindergarten is the first experience many of them have with school. Upon entering my classroom there are a range of abilities: from those not able to recognize the difference between letters versus numbers to students who are already able to read. I try my hardest to make school fun and engaging in order to set them up for a lifetime love of learning.
