I teach in an extremely low income migrant farm-working community. Most of my students are being raised by their elderly grandparents (who do not speak english) because their parents are either incarcerated in the nearby prison or they are working in the fields. The kids have not really been exposed to advanced technology due to the low socio-economic status of the community. Most of them have never traveled outside of the small town. They have such a desire to learn and the biggest obstacle is getting technology in their little hands!
