My school has a writing focus so we attract creatively minded, somewhat dramatic students. Many of them are very independent. Once they are exposed to a new medium or art form, they run with it and create things beyond our expectations. The talent show is the best attended event all year. These kids are hungry to express themselves and they don't have enough chances to make it happen.
