The Storyworks magazine, opens new worlds to the students, and helps students to learn new skills. Some of the skills are text analysis, inferencing, text depend writing, and word study. Imagine this, students laying all over the classroom, reading and putting into action all of those skills. Storyworks offers high interest stories that the children love, and the mixture of fiction and non-fiction stories keeps the children interested. Holding a magazine of their own, and being able to read and re-read helps the students have ownership of their work, and they come to cherish their storyworks magazines. It does not stop there they then take them home to share with their family. I have even added table topics for parents, so they can talk about the stories at home. This valuable magazine reaches far beyond the classroom, and changes how students think about reading class. Would you help me give this to my students?
