Our high school has 1700 students, and 50% of the students come from lower income households. Our students rotate in 160 student cores, creating a unique collaborative environment in their English, science and history classes. They must perform a core project each semester, and the core presents and is graded within a 4 member team within the 160 core group. I have 6 classes in English that have 30 teens per class. These students are a mix of sophomore and freshmen, many of whom have little experience with online collaboration and research. Our campus offers student Wi-Fi, but not one to one devices, creating a divide between those who can afford smartphones, ipods and tablets and those who cannot. We have a lab with 25 computers in the library for 1700 students school wide.
