Kindergartners need to move and they need choices. I have been slowly trying to add flexible seating options to my classroom that will help them do just that. A little wiggling is good. We don't expect five-year-olds not to fidget. In kindergarten it is not one size fits all. Many students need options and cannot all be expected to sit and work from traditional tables and chairs or a desk. Some like to stand. Some like the floor. Some just need to wiggle a bit to help them concentrate. I would love to continue to add choices and provide equity for all types of learners.
