My students attend a high poverty (67%) school in a rural community. They are hands-on learners. In Tech Design, they demonstrate how people create solutions to technology and engineering problems, as well as share, compile and use technology. Students build Popsicle stick bridges for the local Junior High Bridge building contest and robots using LEGO Mind storms on loan from the local 4-H Extension. They learn about construction by studying and building model bridges, tunnels, domes and skyscrapers.
