All students should have the opportunity to have classes that are fun and interesting. While the basics can be great classes, it is important to expand opportunities for students. Teaching life skills, specifically sewing and cooking, will give my students knowledge that they can take with them for the rest of their life. The idea of taking this class has my students excited. While it can be difficult to get students motivated for school, this class is something that they want to take. There are a lot of good reasons to learn to cook and sew. Cooking will lead students to better health and allow them to save money. It can be a great way to relieve stress. Sewing will allow students to be creative and save money as they learn to mend their clothes. With the right kitchen and sewing supplies, my students and I can work together and gain life long skills.
