Imagine for a minute that you a can't vocally produce words to tell your caregiver what food you want, what part of your body is hurting, or even what frustrates you the most. In my classroom, that dilemma exasperates my students on a daily basis. As you may know Autism is becoming more and more prevalent in our elementary schools. My students are all wonderful human beings that have to deal with the awful effects of Autism. More specifically, each of my students are learning to control their behaviors in one way or another. In my opinion, proper communication is the catalyst for genuine behavior modification.
