I have been a special education teacher for 18 years. Sixteen of these years have been at the elementary level. I found out today that I am being moved to the middle school this year. I will be teaching students with IEPs (Individualized Education Programs), with goals in reading and math. Having been an elementary special education teacher for so long, I do not have the necessary materials to help my middle schoolers as they work towards their IEP goals. I know that my middle school special education students will benefit greatly from a variety of decodable text and engaging reading and math lessons and learning activities that I will be able to purchase through this project by using TPT gift cards. Middle school is such a challenging time for students, but it is even more difficult when you have learning challenges. I want to ensure I have the materials needed to help them succeed. By donating to this project, you will help to increase my students' academic achievement.
