I am hoping to encourage students to read. We often read "Dead White Guys" in high school so I like to show them there is other literature in the world. Having options shows them that not all literature is "unrelatable." Very few students have on-level novels at home. I hope to add novels to the classroom that will entice students to read. Hopefully they will be able to connect to these novels. I tried to include a variety of texts in hopes that there will be something of interest for them.
