My students come from backgrounds where the topic of investing is not often discussed. They need these skills to be successful in their future. Middle school students love money! Their ears perk when the topic is discussed. Even if it is fake money like this Stock Market Game simulation for which my students need Fall and Spring fees to participate. They learn the benefits of starting early and having a plan to have their money work for them through investment opportunities in stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. The simulation is all online, so they are completely engaged. I'm always shocked how connected they become with headline news and the impact on our economy through this simulation.
