I work at a school whose population is 98% African-American and low-income. Although my students are against the odds, they definitely have fighting spirits. Even though they come prepared to learn every day, our limited resources have not been able to provide them with the quality education that they deserve. My students fight against the odds continuously, not just in the classroom but in life alone. They are vibrant, intelligent and incredible thinkers. My school is a turnaround school and is working hard to build culture and have been working tirelessly to do what it can to better the community. We believe that our students are building the foundation they need to better the rest of their lives.

About my class
