This school year I will have 30 rambunctious, curious, wonderful 2nd graders! Most of my students speak English as a second language, and most are living at or below the poverty line. The vast majority of the students at St. Paul City School receive free or reduced lunch. St. Paul City School is located in downtown St. Paul, in one of the most impoverished neighborhoods in Minnesota. Many of my students are coming to me already behind grade level in reading and writing, so the materials I'm requesting are a great way to keep them motivated and engaged about literacy through centers.
