My students are special needs children ranging from preschoolers to giant 8th graders. They all want to succeed in school and are excited to be in the same classrooms as their peers. They just need a little help understanding the environment. Last year, a student with Autism finally successfully worked with his friends to complete a wonderful book project...including baking a cake to represent the book. He beamed with pride at his teamwork and accomplishments. Even the smallest success, sitting quietly in a class, waiting your turn, can result in a happy day for a child with a disability.
