My students are 4-6 grade students with low incidence disabilities, mostly primarily diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. They are fun loving children who have a variety of needs. My school is located on the south side of Chicago, and resources are limited. My students love learning with technology, doing yoga, and watching videos to enhance their learning. Most of my students are able to verbally communicate, however some are not. All of my students struggle with social skills and most of them have difficulties finding calming strategies when they cannot find the words to express their feelings. Even though they have many challenges to face every day, they are happy kids who enjoy coming to school and love learning.
