My class motto is:"The expert of anything was once a beginner." While many of my students are timid during initial class meetings, they soon begin to understand that while learning about art, as well as other content subjects, we celebrate even the small accomplishments. They are encouraged to be risk-takers enabling them to develop their artistic skills to become better artists. They also understand that art is a vehicle used to make connections in their lives. I love seeing engaged and enthusiastic artists! Our students are of a diverse population within our Title I school community, which provides more of a reason to practice empathy, respect, and tolerance through creativity. We focus on global educational influences that inform our students daily. Our students are nurtured and supported by a caring administration, knowledgeable teachers, devoted parent volunteers, and community stakeholders that are committed to providing a well-rounded educational experience.
