This year my team and I have decided to purchase the Rooted in Reading program. This program is a spiraling curriculum that meets all Missouri Learning Standards. The program alone is over $100.00!! I plan to purchase the curriculum using my own money. I am asking for your support to purchase the read alouds that accompany this program. I want my students to have their hands on the actual book and not just listen to it read to them on Youtube. If my classroom has these books, my students will not only be able to hear the text being read, but also read the text independently. Technology is a great thing, but we need to keep books in the hands of our children! During my reading mini lessons my students will be able to listen to the text and see the pictures. They will then do activities based on the book, that also cover the Missouri Learning Standards. We will use each book as the center of our study for one week.
