My students are bright, caring and delightful people. They love to learn, play and interact with each other. We have done a wonderful job building a community of learners and a classroom family. They grow to love one another and really take care of each other. I have a few students whose parents are not part of their lives and are being raised in foster homes or with relatives. My students have so many personal challenges and they still come to school with smiles and ready to learn. My students attend a Title I school and most of them come from generational poverty and underprivileged homes. They receive free breakfast and lunch. There are some who come to school unprepared with school supplies. We ensure they do not have to worry about it by supplying them with what is needed for them to be successful. Our school population is about 650 and my average class size has been 29 students.
