Math is more than just black and white. However, most of the manipulatives we give the students are just that. Boring and black and white! I want math to be eye catching and fun for the students. Making math colorful will help engage our students in the lesson. Students are highly engaged when they log onto a computer and get to play fun math games. However, when we are teaching lessons that don't involve technology, students tend to zone out. So if we have the materials to make math colorful, we have a better chance of keeping them engaged which means math becomes more meaningful to them.
