Bringing the love of reading to math would decrease math anxiety, increase math enjoyment and incorporate reading skills. I teach small groups of math in Kindergarten to 2nd grade. The students love to be involved with math manipulatives. I know they would also enjoy being read to or reading themselves. This would be especially true when introducing a math concept, summarizing the concept, or for review. These books not only would promote math but the love of reading and math together. The students I teach are eager learners in every avenue. They enjoy hands-on experiences in all subject matters including math. I can't wait to share these books about math concepts and hands on manipulatives to go with them!
