Our first graders have a difficult transition to make. They go from Kindergarten, where play is an everyday routine, to first grade, where play is often put on the back burner. We want to ease that transition with more time for play in first grade. After all, for children, playing is learning! Our students love having hands on experiences, like the wood blocks we are asking for. It allows them time to be creative and to work together. This would also be a great tools for us to use an indoor recess when the weather isn't cooperative. These blocks would make a huge difference in the lives of our students!
