My third graders are so excited about learning! They love to delve into hands-on projects and then write about them. Our writing and illustrations are the "frosting on to top of our cake" after completing science experiments, art projects, and literacy/math units. It is a struggle to provide supplies for my class due to more than half of the school population being below the poverty line. As a Title 1 school, our entire school qualifies for free breakfast and lunch. While there isn't much (or any) extra cash laying around, that doesn't stop my kids from trying to excel!
