Oh their aching backs! I teach a combined grades 4 and 5 Special Education class in an inner city, high need area. I have 8 students in a small classroom. These students are learning disabled and many have ADHD. Our school services 300 students and is confronted with serious budget cuts. We currently have primary sized round worktables and chairs. They are too small for my students! Their knees hit the desks and sometimes a student can fall out of his/her too small chair. Please help my students! They have so much to overcome educationally to begin with, having them uncomfortable just adds to their problems. Your generosity will enable them to "spreadout" and be comfortable. It will allow for flexible seating in terms of group work and individual needs. You can't imagine the difference it will make to these students every day of the school year.
