GET YOUR TEACH ON! These incredible teachers have created an amazing professional development program that is an educational experience for TEACHERS! They are trailblazers who are changing the way teachers across America approach curriculum and the way they present it to their students. I have been following this movement for the past two years, and they are FINALLY coming to New England! I am dying to go to this professional development so I can learn and grow as an educator, and then go back to my own district to share my knowledge and energy, and hopefully inspire other teachers around me. The Get You Teach On professional development is equipped with mentor teachers from around the country who are showing educators how to create an outside-the-box educational experience, which will then increase student engagement! The mindset behind this approach is that true engagement for students does not happen without both fun and academic rigor. These teachers are showing others how to build a successful classroom that is exciting and engaging, but also challenges and inspires students to push themselves further. Teachers attending the conference will be learning instructional practices that are directly aligned with the Common Core Standards, but the way the teacher presents the curriculum will spark the students' desires to learn! I will wrap up my request by sharing my favorite quote from the GYTO founders - "One of the greatest influences that we have on students in today's classrooms is the way that we make them FEEL about education. This is something that will forever shape their future as a learner." I want to help my students develop a love for learning, and I thank you for considering to help make that happen!
