These materials would enhance listening, seating, and focus in our second grade classroom. First, my students need the ability to record their voices while using a computer program like Seesaw, which is an online journal of classroom work. I was just introduced to this program this year and would love to begin to utilize this more. Unfortunately, when students are recording their thoughts, they speak very loudly in order to get their message across. Having a few of the AshopZ Retro telephone handsets in our classroom would help students record their voices in a softer way. They could speak into the handset to record their evidence of learning without distracting others. Furthermore, most elementary classrooms allow for flexible groupings during reading instruction. My class needs additional resources to help them maintain focus during our small group, English-Language Arts time. They currently sit on hard, plastic chairs, even some that are too small for the table. Many of my students have trouble maintaining attention and are very impulsive. The Learniture Active Learning Stools would allow my students to be active (i.e. wobbling in their chair) during these group times and this would help them better maintain their focus during instruction. They would also make our classroom more colorful and inviting! Last, the classroom would be enhanced if they had the ability to "see" the amount of time elapse in a fun way. Having a few Teenitor Liquid Timers would help them manage their time more effectively and make "Beat the Timer" an exciting game. With these supplies, I feel that our classroom would be better equipped to manage the academic and social demands of the classroom. Please consider donating to us!
