My classroom will soon be filled with 25 smiling four year olds ready to experience their first year in school our TK class! Our school consists of very sweet children coming from difficult backgrounds. Most of them have never attended school prior to, and half of them do not speak English. Our school is a Title 1 school and we have a community of 75% English Learners, with about half receiving free lunches. Most students share a bedroom with several family members, having little to themselves. Due to these conditions, the teachers at our school try to go above and beyond to give our students the best learning experience we can while also giving them a sense of having a second "home" to call their own.
