Being an active technology user is a crucial part of today's society. Technology is everywhere! The downside of technology is that it is quite expensive. Students who come from low-income homes have families that don't always have the funds to be able to give this technology to their kids. Because my district is one of the largest school districts in the country, our funds are split among 140+ elementary schools. Unfortunately, this means not all students can get what they need. My students need Amazon Fire tablets to help engage them in group work and 21st century technology skills. My students could benefit tremendously from having tablets in our classroom. They can be used by an individual student, in pairs or in small groups and collaboration is enhanced when students can stay engaged.
