My students are eager to learn and enjoy using technology tools when available. Many of my students come from homes that were affected by the housing market crash and skyrocketing unemployment at the time. These students are experiencing the daily crush of their parent's financial obligations. They do not understand why they cannot have technology tools and their own new clothing instead of hand-me-downs. Many students are on free breakfast and lunch programs along with receiving a food bag on the weekends. Having a place like our classroom is a joy and a bright spot in their day.
