With increased exposure to text, my students will become better readers and improve their vocabulary and comprehension. My students will listen to stories on CD with this listening center, which will give me the opportunity to pull students in small groups or individually to work on their deficits in reading. The book set that I chose to go with the listening center is a great example of text that is on their grade level which would be too difficult for them to read on their own. In addition, our reading series has the stories on CD which I can also use with this. My goal for my students is that they become readers and writers, which is very important for their futures! This listening center will make a huge impact in achieving that goal!
