When students are given independent reading time they either pick books way above their level (looking at the pictures) or pick books much too easy for them (they breeze through the book in no time). We will utilize these leveled reading bundles to stock our classroom library with "just right" books for each child. They will be able to read and write about books at the right level for them. Can you imagine wanting to read a book "just right" for you walking to the bookshelf and being unable to find a book that's just the right fit for you? My students face this dilemma each day. During center time I want to provide my independent readers with books that meet their individual needs.
