I am the only 7th grade science teacher at a wonderful school in East Los Angeles. My students are bright and motivated, and they love trying their hands at science. I try to find ways to access students' interest in the face of a pressing lack of economic resources. Science has the unique ability to engage students in hands-on learning, and my projects here support that goal. Interactive materials help teachers facilitate imagination, appreciation, and inspiration for science. The projects here utilize that and aim to access a variety of learning styles and levels to help students of all abilities and preferences understand scientific concepts and how science may affect society.
