My school is located in Appalachia and is a school of poverty. Many parents are out of work and struggle to support their families so getting support in the classroom is sometimes difficult. In spite of the difficulty our community sometimes faces, the parents want only the best for their children, and we strive to push them and provide them with as many learning experiences as we possibly can. As a community we work hard to ensure our kids are prepared for a world that is constantly changing. The kids love to learn! They especially love to read about nonfiction topics that they have never read about or had any experience with. Watching their imaginations go crazy as they learn new things and explore these topics is the most precious gift!
