Chromebooks allow me to differentiate material for all students. Accessibility apps on the Chromebooks allow Special Ed and struggling students to have text-to-speech, and speech-to-text options while typing and reading. English Langurage Learners can access unlimited resources using the Internet. Students who are ready to go "beyond" can use internet resources to take them there. Students learn best when they have some control of the learning process and the material- technology is a great tool for giving them what they need to succeed. STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) in the science classroom demands access to not only hands-on investigations, but to computer technology. Students can help classmates use technology, collaborate with peers, do research, prepare slide presentations, practice coding and share with Google apps. Having chromebooks in the classroom will also allow my students to access multimedia text sets (teacher created) that support deeper understandings of the content and essential concepts.
