I teach a mix of low and low-medium students in a tracked math class. Many of my students still have trouble with their basic calculations and that takes away from their true understanding of the concept. Some of them become disengaged from class in general because they are so frustrated with their lack of prior knowledge that they give up. These are all students who want a better life for themselves but do not have the resources as many other students to succeed.

About my class
