I work in a middle/lower class school district that borders on a city in upstate New York. Every day we face challenges that make us a stronger school. This year we have so many students we had to get a trailer to house some grade levels. We also redistricted this year and since this is the start of the school year we will have an entire new population entering our school. The class size usually is about 24 students with in my FIRST grade classroom. Included in the class are students that speak another language. Many times they would speak little or not English at all. We also have a wide range of students from a preschool level all the up to maybe a third grade level. Teaching this large of a range of a group of students can be difficult but many times they barely even notice and everyone gets along with each other. My students make me proud to be their teacher and make me want to work hard each and every day for them.
