Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the wonderful students at Tuolumne School and my project. Over 75% of the students at our school are second language learners. These children represent a diverse population of people. Our school is located in an economically disadvantaged area. Many of our families are struggling with day to day living concerns. While these families may struggle, they still value education as a way to give their child more then they themselves have. My first graders come to school with little, to no, exposure to books. Often times their parents are illiterate, so they are unable to help. Despite the adversity these children face, they are full of energy and have a passion for learning. They inspire me to be the best teacher I can be and I work each day to inspire them to be the best they can be. Having some technological tools would help make a big difference for those children that sometimes slip through the cracks.
