Our students in fourth grade work so hard to become independent readers. We need these books to help us create lifelong readers. The books that are selected are the 2018-2019 Sunshine State Young Reader books. These books are selected by students, for students, to point them in the direction of a great book! Our students will absolutely love reading these books! I have requested two books for each title. This will help our students enjoy books together. In the past, these books help students find a favorite genre and/or series. It also helps them to find a new favorite author and try a different type of book. The Media Center at our school also has incentives that students can earn. If a child reads all 15 SSYRA books, they are invited to try out for the Battle of the Books team! Our school has won the past two years in a row! This is a great way to encourage students to continue reading and helps encourage them with incentives and rewards. We can't wait to start reading all of these amazing books!
