Hello! The students at my Title 1 elementary school are first generation or new arrivals to the U.S. They represent the hopes and dreams of their parents for a better life. An education is the key to that dream and our school is trying its best to meet their many needs. Our students are needy in more than food, shelter, and clothing. For example, they need extra academic support because their parents work long hours and may not have the education or experience to assist even if they were home. Many need behavioral support because their parents are still developing parenting skills, and they need language support because they do not speak English at home. Teachers at our school spend their own money to keep the classrooms running because funds are low and students cannot contribute much in terms of supplies. You support is so appreciated!
