While many of my students love to read, a majority of high school students do not enjoy reading or do not read regularly. My goal is for students to grow at least 2 years (or more!) in reading and this could be the book to start them off on the pathway to their goal. My students are passionate and fun. They definitely keep me on my toes at all times. They all have different aspirations and in order for them to reach their goals, reading is a high priority in my classroom. Since my school is a Title I high school in Tennessee, many of my students are below grade level when they enter high school. This is not a setback, but rather an opportunity for my students to grow and gain the knowledge they need to graduate from high school, go to college, begin their career, etc.
