My students are from a community where nearly 50% of the population is below poverty level. This was very surprising to me. They come to school eager to learn with beautiful smiling faces, even though I know many have difficulties outside of school. Each year I have taught nearly half my class has been from young military families. There is a great pride and acceptance among my students. I'm sure some of it is because of their young age, but I also think some is from our strong community and great school!
