My scholars live below the poverty line. Their families have chosen to bring their scholar here from surrounding failing schools, in order to give then another chance at succeeding. Most of my students come to me, two to three grade levels behind and lack the resources needed at home to support learning in the classroom. Our school is a college preparatory school. We focus on giving our scholars the opportunity to get to college by teaching an arts infused rigorous program. In addition to catching them up academically, we help mold them into responsible, independent, hardworking, lifelong learners. We teach and equip them with the tools needed to achieve their goals regardless of what they face at home. In the end, I find that my students are some of the most hard working young people you will ever meet.
