My school is located in a rural setting that is rapidly being changed by development. Numerous home parks and other mixed socio-economic communities are springing up near the school, including growing groups of workers doing the building in the area. This kind of growth also brings transience to our school population. This means many children come to school without a pre-school preparation and may start in the middle of the school year. Students are eager to learn and thrive on materials given. Our school works hard to provide resources not just to keep in the classroom but to allow the students to keep and utilize at home making the learning fluid for parents and students. Since 40% of our population is free/reduced-price lunch, providing basic materials is a struggle for most families; parents do not always have the means to provide financial support for other academic items. While our school works hard to fund many resources, not all are included. These items I am requesting will make a difference.
